We have really enjoyed working with Ed Vitenberg and his team during re-construction of our house. Ed and his team accomplished the work in a professional, thorough manner and on schedule. The patience, professionalism, speed and skill the items were handled with were nothing short of amazing. Ed also worked closely with us to minimize change orders and cost overruns. Our kitchen remodel included tearing down a wall between the kitchen and dining room to open up the kitchen area. This meant we needed a General Contractor. Our kitchen designer referred us to Ed Vitenburg. Ed and his structural architects were very professional and well experienced. His architects were able to design the open area with reinforced vertical and horizontal beams instead of opening up the foundation (because of our 2-story home) which would've been more costly. Ed's team acquired all the permits and our kitchen remodel began the day after Labor Day. Everything went pretty much to schedule. Ed's team was flexible in keeping with the granite counter top schedule and worked a few weekends to stay on schedule. Ed's carpenters were super, they definitely knew how to install a kitchen; the painters were very careful that everything was taped and covered. Any changes to the scope were handled through a change order which we appreciated to keep our records in order. Overall, Ed and his team were professional, kept their work area clean, put up a faux plastic wall to minimize the dust to the other rooms, Ed was onsite for all 3 permit inspections, kept to their 5 week schedule and all work completed within approved budgets. Ed was very good about answering his phone or calling back immediately. We would recommend Ed's team to friends and family.

The project we were searching a construction company for was pretty much huge. This was about rebuilding 50 years old house. And now what we have is entirely new creature. Twice as big, fresh as newly born, attractive as new love. What Edward's team has done are: demolishing, redesigning, re-erecting, reequipping - the building was "re-programmed and re-implemented from scratch". Everything has been done with care, professionalism, responsibility and in time. Our house now is looking as some kind of new exhibit in the neighborhood. What to add to this ... Edward is doing what he was born for.

We had been going through our kitchen design for almost a year and finally came across Ed and his crew. What originally started as a kitchen/dining room remodel soon included the living room and foyer. Ed was extremely competitive in his pricing, worked very closely with us when any issues came up with vendors, materials etc., and performed outstanding work. When Ed said he planned to do a, b and c this week, it got done. We have pets and Ed and his team were able to work around this and still do an outstanding job. Ed’s knowledge, professionalism and support made it a pleasure to work with him and his team. I will definitely give Ed a call when we do the bathroom next year.

I recently had my kitchen totally remodeled and selected Ed Vitenberg as the contractor for the job. I selected them over three other contractors as their quote was the most detailed and I was very at ease with them when compared to the others. They started the job promptly once the materials arrived and even unpacked all the cabinets and did a preliminary inspection of them as well. The demolition was very expeditious and then the re-construction started. During the re-construction process, they were very attentive to my requests and satisfied all my needs. Although the construction went a few days beyond the original due date, the quality of the workmanship was top notch. I highly recommend Ed Vitenberg for anyone’s construction needs and will use them when it becomes time to renovate my bathroom next year.

The process of selecting a contractor to help with your home can be overwhelming. It's hard for a 'lay person' to differentiate between the subtle nuances that seem to riddle the construction field. Different attributes carry different weights for each individual. One of the most critical differentiating factors for us was the contractor’s ability, and willingness, to communicate frequently and openly. We found a gold mine in Ed Vitenberg. Not only is he a skilled and creative builder, but he is technology savvy and easily utilizes email to stay in contact on an almost daily basis. This proved to be invaluable since both of us work during the day and could not be home to provide oversight to the project. Ed willingly accepted emails of any open items or concerns that we had and responded to them within hours. We always knew where our project stood, how far we were along. All projects seem to have a few hidden surprises, or unexpected challenges. These were always passed on within moments of discovery so that Ed’s team was able to proceed and not compromise any promised deadlines. Another notable trait of Ed’s team is the level of respect they showed for our home. We did not move out during our project, which we knew made it more difficult for his team, but each night we would return to our home and the areas surrounding their work would be cleaned up and in order. We have never had that level of care shown with any prior contractors who worked with us. You will be very pleased if you select Ed and his team for your work. They are hard working, professional, and committed to delivering only the best results.

We have worked with Ed Vitenberg for over a year in a course of construction of our new 2 story house in Palo Alto. Ed took a job of General Contractor of this project. Project is completed. It took 13 months from the foundation and we are happy it is done. We are completely satisfied with Ed’s performance. Negotiation process with Ed ends up with reasonable prices. Work he is responsible for is being done with good quality and without delays. Communications with Ed are easy, answers are direct and actions are quick. I would like to provide you with my feedback on experience with Ed Vitenberg. I would like to start that overall it was an excellent experience, and my family and I are satisfied with every aspect of it – the contract review, price negotiation, execution, communications, delivery, and follow up. I have already recommended Ed’s services to the close friends of mine. Here are some details that might be important to consider: 1. We had a very big project, including not just two additions, a new foundation, kitchen remodeling, but the major house layout update. I believe only a couple of walls were left intact; everything else, both inner and outer walls, was moved. The project was not related to any particular area of the house, it involved the every single layer – foundation, framing, electrical, plumbing, sheetrock, painting and detailing, bathroom remodeling. We also had a new nigh-tech kitchen with advance appliances rebuilt. We were very satisfied with the results in everything – and I’m an extremely picky person when it comes to accepting the work. 2. The project, architecturally-wise, has a few major flaws. The architect has neglected to add the crawling-space height into the added room calculations; she missed to provide many important details that were her responsibility to account. All these issues were resolved at no cost to me and to my total satisfaction accordingly to my initial plans. 3. I can’t emphasize enough my satisfaction communicating with Ed; this is where he exceeds himself. With a project of such magnitude, there are always small and not so small issues risen while progressing with the project. Everything that happened was immediately resolved by Ed; he really went many extra miles to fix and prevent any glitches. 4. The price he had offered was fair and reasonable. He also never took an advantage of the contract binding when I requested deviations from the original plans. The biggest change was the kitchen remodeling, not planned initially, which I requested in the middle of the ongoing project. The extra price was not just “reasonable”, it was low.
